Our client, Duracell, a leading company in the Consumer Goods industry, is launching the operations of its Global Business Services in Costa Rica and is hiring for the following position:

F&A Senior Accountant

Main functions:

Execute monthly and quarterly financial closing tasks, including preparing journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts at period-end.
Review trial balances and detailed transaction data to detect and resolve discrepancies while gaining a comprehensive understanding of business operations.
Analyze variations in balance sheet and profit and loss statement accounts to support accurate financial reporting.
Collaborate with business segments to address financial reporting issues and fulfill their specific reporting requirements.
Support segments and sectors in the preparation and review of budgets, forecasts, and financial outlooks.
Conduct and assist with various accounting processes such as lease accounting, accruals, account reclassifications, reserves, tax compliance, intercompany transactions, and reconciliations.
Maintain and update financial documentation in accordance with internal controls, including SOX compliance standards.
Develop and implement enhanced controls and procedures to strengthen the accounting control environment, while ensuring adherence to internal deadlines and regulatory requirements.
Carry out other responsibilities inherent to the role.

Profile required:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
CPA certification is a plus, though not mandatory.
At least 7 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a strong focus on monthly and quarterly close processes, journal entry preparation, and account reconciliations.
Proficient in ERP systems, particularly SAP, and reconciliation tools such as Black Line is preferred.
Demonstrates solid understanding of financial and accounting standards, including GAAP.
Experienced in leveraging automated financial reporting systems and optimizing reporting workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and professionally.
Open to working extended hours during peak periods such as month-end, quarter-end, and budget cycles.
Advanced english proficiency.
