Our client, Duracell, a leading company in the Consumer Goods industry, is launching the operations of its Global Business Services in Costa Rica and is hiring for the following position:

F&A Accountant

Main functions:

Execute monthly and quarterly financial close processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Review trial balances and transactional details to investigate and resolve discrepancies while gaining a thorough understanding of financial operations.
Analyze fluctuations in balance sheet and income statement accounts, delivering insights to support accurate financial analysis and reporting.
Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial outlook efforts by providing data, analysis, and coordination support to various business units.
Carry out key accounting functions such as lease management, accruals, reclassifications, reserves, tax activities, and intercompany reconciliations, ensuring accurate and compliant records.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards, and internal control frameworks such as Sarbanes-Oxley and FCPA, while enhancing controls as needed.
Support the implementation of new accounting procedures and promote process improvements by identifying and eliminating non-value-added activities, while ensuring internal deadlines are consistently met.
Monitor adherence to internal reporting deadlines to ensure timely and accurate completion of financial deliverables.
Carry out other responsibilities inherent to the role.

Profile required:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
CPA certification is a plus, though not mandatory.
At least 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a strong focus on monthly and quarterly close processes, journal entry preparation, and account reconciliations.
Proficient in ERP systems, particularly SAP, and reconciliation tools such as Black Line.
Demonstrates solid understanding of financial and accounting standards, including GAAP.
Experienced in leveraging automated financial reporting systems and optimizing reporting workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and professionally.
Open to working extended hours during peak periods such as month-end, quarter-end, and budget cycles.
Advanced english proficiency.
