Our client, Duracell, a leading company in the Consumer Goods industry, is ​ launching the operations of its Global Business Services in Costa Rica and is hiring for the following position:​

Latin Americas Payroll & Benefits Specialist​

Main functions:


  • Oversee full-cycle payroll operations across Costa Rica, Mexico, Brazil, and Chile, ensuring timely, accurate processing in strict compliance with local labor and tax regulations.​​
  • Administer and coordinate regional employee benefits programs, including health insurance, life coverage, retirement plans, and various leave entitlements, aligning them with legal requirements and organizational policies.​​
  • Collaborate with HR Global Business Services teams to evaluate, improve, and standardize payroll delivery and benefits offerings, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with employee expectations and cost-effectiveness.​​
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external brokers and vendors to analyze market trends, manage benefit renewals, and introduce new offerings that enhance employee value and support strategic HR initiatives.​​
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of payroll and benefits records, including tracking employee lifecycle events (onboarding, changes, terminations), timesheet validation, and processing of expat payroll and third-party relocation entries.​​
  • Provide expert-level support during internal and external audits, preparing comprehensive documentation and ensuring adherence to country-specific reporting obligations and company audit standards.​​
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including the automation of payroll and benefits processes, system enhancements, SLA-based ticket management, and cross-functional training for HR and managerial stakeholders.​​
  • Carry out other responsibilities inherent to the role.


Profile required:


  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related discipline.​​
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in payroll and benefits administration, ideally within multinational organizations operating in the LATAM region.​​
  • In-depth understanding of labor and tax regulations in Costa Rica, Mexico, Brazil, and Chile; exposure to legislation in additional LATAM countries is considered an asset.​​
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex regional payroll and benefits operations with a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.​​
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement, vendor coordination, and optimizing benefit programs through data-driven decision-making.​​
  • Proficient in payroll platforms such as ADP Workforce Now, Celergo, or equivalent systems, with a track record of accurate and timely payroll execution.​​
  • Demonstrated expertise in vendor management, including the ability to negotiate contracts and maintain productive external partnerships.​​
  • Familiarity with ADP custom reporting tools and Smart Compliance modules is highly desirable.​​
  • Working knowledge of Oracle HRIS or similar enterprise HR systems is preferred.​​
  • Payroll-related certifications (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional – CPP) are advantageous.​
  • Advanced english proficiency.
