Our client, Duracell, a leading company in the Consumer Goods industry, is ​ launching the operations of its Global Business Services in Costa Rica and is ​ hiring for the following position:​

Accounts Receivable and Payable Associate Director

Main functions:


  • Oversee end-to-end Accounts Receivable and Payable operations across the Americas region, ensuring efficient management of order processing, invoicing, collections, credit reviews, claims resolution, cash application, invoice handling, purchase order workflows, and on-time payments.​​
  • Drive performance monitoring through key financial indicators such as DSO, aging balances, and payment cycle times to ensure efficiency and informed decision-making.​​
  • Ensure compliance and accuracy in all AR/AP activities by enforcing internal controls, upholding accounting standards, and maintaining timely and precise transaction processing.​​
  • Lead the standardization and optimization of finance processes, promoting best practices across Shared Services sites while advancing initiatives in automation, e-invoicing, SAP-based data governance, and enhanced reporting capabilities.​​
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Procurement, Accounting, Marketing, IT, and Treasury to support business objectives and resolve operational challenges.​​
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks, addressing credit exposure, payment delays, and compliance gaps through root cause analysis and preventive action plans.​​
  • Manage and develop the AR/AP team, setting clear goals, providing guidance, and promoting a culture of accountability, learning, and professional growth.​​
  • Collaborate with HR and leadership teams to support recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies aligned with Shared Services talent needs and business objectives.​​
  • Carry out other responsibilities inherent to the role.


Profile required:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.​​
  • More than 10 years of progressive experience in finance operations, with strong involvement in both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.​​
  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity, ideally within a Shared Services or Global Business Services (GBS) setting.​​
  • Proven ability to lead finance teams delivering services for North America and/or Latin America.​​
  • Track record of driving process enhancements, leading automation initiatives, and managing financial platforms such as SAP is highly desired.​​
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building abilities.​​
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably SAP, and other finance-related technologies.​​
  • Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and compliance standards such as SOX.​​
  • Experience utilizing KPIs, dashboards, and reporting platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is considered an advantage.​
  • Advanced english proficiency.
